One of the people I've never met in life, but yet call a "friend" at least on Facebook, is being willfully obtuse about the outcome of the presidential election, even as it is happening and the monster vote is out and about. Maybe it's just that this writer has turned off all mainstream sources mainly because their interest is less than neutral, but there's a definite tinge of this person - a fellow blogger - being gaslighted via a fairly closed echo chamber of "conservative" media.
In fact, all of this writer's friends and family who regularly consume mainstream media offerings are all in the same boat: convinced that Hillary Clinton is going to win the presidency easily.
This time tomorrow we will know the final answer, but millions of Americans are not so convinced. Not this time. Not when there are established alternatives that rip at BOTH Republicans and Democrats on a regular basis reporting that which the mainstream and conservative media will not: the sheer size and scope of Trump rallies. Tens of thousands of people show up in fields in the middle of nowhere to see the man and hear him speak. These are the voiceless, the powerless, the people who have not voted in decades because they are really convinced that their vote means nothing.
Until 2016 when there are obviously so many who are in the same place as they are, that it appears, anyway, that we outnumber the opposition. Until the counting is done, Heaven only knows the answer to that question.
In the meantime, chin up. Even if we are saddled with Hillary Clinton for the next four years, at least the people who run the world because they've bamboozled the masses know that we are on to them.
