Fake News Schadenfreude

With all of the chatter out there about "fake news" one of the biggest shocks to this writer was to see the blog for which she wrote on the main list that included a lot of sites that are loaded with great information.  (Some are actual satire and some the red meat fake sites that DO need to be exposed, but we weren't one of them)  How that professor-type busy body found us is a bit of a mystery.

(Okay, several of us had the occasional viral piece, like the one about Michelle Obama not knowing the history of the White House, but toward the end of that blog's life, posts tended to get lost.)

Things are getting better, but today....

Today vindicated those of us who fought against the sort of smash and grab blogging that is giving independents a bad name.

See, karma arrived in the form of a Washington Post article.  I may be enjoying it a little too much, but when smash and grab click-baiters who give those of us who actually research and source and take the time and care to be factual a bad name admit that's what they do to make a cheap buck off of "readers" to one of the rags crying about the loss of circulation to the new media, they're signing an admission to Marc Zuckerberg that their content deserves to be censored.

It's just too much to keep from enjoying the reality that such people - millennial food workers to be precise - are too young and dumb to know they've just &^%$#@ up royally.  They are now on record admitting that that there is no time or thought put into the "news" they publish.

Yep, karma's a bitch, and so is not recognizing the rope by which one will hang himself.

By the way, there are a lot of us out here on the fruited plain working to make news available via a variety of sources.  We earn a living through clicks and the ads on the pages where our content appears.  Just sayin'.
